OK — been on this thing for maybe six months now and it's basically bookmarked at this point, so thought I'd chuck my thoughts in since a lad on another thread asked me the other day. I'm in the UK, mostly do football and horses, a fiver here and there, so take it how you like.
What got me on it was honestly a bit daft — I could never figure out what an ew return actually was once you get five places instead of three. Basically I'd guess and get a shock. Now type the odds in first, every time, even a straight one-selection punt.
The single bet calculator is the bit I open most — type in the price and your stake and you get profit and total return straight away, fractions or decimals. It also handles the multiples — acca and treble maths, lucky 15s, a yankee, and that's where I always mess it up. Have a go yourself, it lives at yankee calculator and it's free with no account nonsense.
What actually made a difference were the geekier extras. They've got an odds-to-probability converter and it makes obvious how much the bookie's taking, plus a kelly staking calculator — I run quarter kelly as the full version is a quick route to a dead bankroll. The dutch tool is handy too if I'm splitting a race.
Not all sunshine though. The design feels very functional, let's say — not much flash, it's clearly function over form. On mobile it works but the lucky 63 breakdown need a bit of scrolling. Also there's nothing on the app store, it's a website and that's it — slight shame just flagging it.
Anyway. Doesn't cost anything, not plastered in adverts, does what it says. If you still adds it up in their head, try it — saved me plenty of dumb bets I'd have regretted. |
